January
januar.jpg The month January derives its name from the Latin word Janus, the Roman god of beginnings and transitions, who was depicted with two faces that look in the opposite direction: one looks back on the past (the past year), the other looks towards the future (the new year).

In Germanic culture this month was called Hartung (severeness) or Eismond (ice month) and was the coldest winter month, in which everything was severely frozen.
The snow queen with the emblem of Janus with two faces on her sledge, shows the transcendent palace of infinite possibilities that exist beyond the cosmic, rigid laws, from which snow crystals also result.
Did you know: Snow crystals are always symmetrical and hexagons! (Water molecules only attach to each other at an angle of 60° or 120°.)
