Father Frost (Dedushka Moroz) is accompanied by his granddaughter Snowflake (Snegurochka) and a boy called New Year.
He carries a sceptre, the curled tip of which makes everything freeze to ice.
His sleigh is drawn by three white reindeers, the Troika.
In a sack he brings gifts for the children.
